When going through difficult times it’s easy to shy away from your faith in God and question Him. It’s easy to get get angry instead of seek understanding and it’s easy to become distant from God’s word instead of thriving in Scriptures. I’ve put together these scriptures of strength for not only my own peace of mind but to help anyone that is struggling through life’s many trials.
Story of Job
I began my journey into the Book of Job to try to find understanding and reasoning for the challenges in life but came out with a different understanding for my own life challenges.
In God’s eyes, Job was “blameless” and “upright.” He shyed away from wrong doings and was a just man. Satan argued to God that the reason Job was such a faithful servant to God was because God blessed him with riches and a good life. God then allowed Satan to test Job’s faith as long as he did not end Job’s life during his trials.
Job lost everything – his family, his health, his livelihood – just about everything near and dear to him. Job is an incredible story of strength because of faith in God.
We are tested daily either by our thoughts, our temptations, and/or our circumstances. If the story of Job has taught me anything is that, no matter what, God is there. When people are trying to make your trust in God waver, when the doctor’s tell you that your situation doesn’t look good, when your children are going down a path you want them to steer clear from… God’s there. Keep the faith, keep the strength, and God will bless you. He has plans, he controls all, and it’s really up to you for how you handle it.
“Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.“ – Job 1:21 KJV
